1 Corinthians

So a friend and I are starting a little bible study on 1 Corinthians.
I found a link that goes through and gives an extremely thorough description of the chapter. I would encourage everyone to take twenty minutes out of their day to sit down and read it.
The URL for it is:  http://www.pbc.org/files/messages/3202/0247.html
Basically, this is a letter that Paul writes to the church in Corinth. He address the fact that this church isn't living how we're called to. The church is divided in many different ways and is corrupt. Paul continues and answers a few things that the church in Corinth has expressed concerns with. He finishes with this verse:
Therefore, [because of all he has said up to this point] my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. {1 Cor 15:58 RSV}

It'd be awesome if people chose to read along with me! Start with the first three chapters and see what your questions are afterwards. Sometimes it takes reading something more than once to understand the actual meaning.
I would love to hear your thoughts and questions in response to what you've read. I hope we can all learn together and become more educated believers.

  3. And mu speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should bot be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God Ch 2 vs 4,5

  4. I like this verse because it reminds me that I don't have to be eloquent to share the gospel of Christ. It is a simple concept...Christ crucified...and it is by the power of God that one understands, Not by my persuasive words.
